KEMPA Journalism Camp is designed for high school students interested in all sorts of media activities. Four days of invigorating workshops cover broadcasting, writing, sports media, photojournalism, team building, podcasting and more.
Campers will be right in the action with award-winning professionals. They’ll work in state-of-the-art studios and labs, as well as outdoors across the beautifully manicured UW-Whitewater campus. Inspiring, informative “Building a Legacy” discussions will get attendees excited about the media!
Nightly excursions feature trips to the campus swimming pool, bowling lanes, athletic facilities and movie theater. Campers can also compete for fun prizes in the annual KEMPA Cup. They can joy nights with new friends in the dorm or just come for the daytime. Campers will get a t-shirt, meals and swag!
UW-Whitewater has a large campus located in the southeastern rolling hills of Wisconsin between Madison, Milwaukee and Chicago. Campers can expect stringent health and safety guidelines, and a safe environment. This year campers will stay in the centrally located Pulliam Hall, which is reserved for upperclassmen during the school year. Attendees are sure to enjoy the updated pod-style suites and welcoming facilities while learning media skills.
