KEMPA offers six awards.  Nominations for the first five are due June 15 of each year.  The KEMPA board accepts suggestions, but not nominations, for the Hall of Fame category. Not all categories have a winner every year.

  • Nancy Becker Newspaper Adviser of the Year (to include newsmagazine and online news)
  • Jan Kohls Yearbook Adviser of the Year
  • Media Award
  • Administrator of the Year
  • Friend of KEMPA
  • Hall of Fame

The Gebhardt writing award which honors feature writing  has been replaced by the new individual contest on feature writing.
