About KEMPA

The Kettle Moraine Press Association is dedicated to the support of scholastic journalism in Wisconsin and Illinois schools. We support both students and advisers through conferences, workshops, competitions and scholarships. Our members are student publications –newspapers (print and/or online), yearbooks – and individuals interested in our work – retired advisers, members of the professional press, yearbook representatives, and others.

Founded in the 1973. Incorporated in 1982.

 Programs

Fall Conference

The KEMPA Fall Conference offers high school students and their advisers a choice of over 60 informational sessions about issues and trends in today’s professional and scholastic media environments.

Winter Adviser Seminar

KEMPA provides an engaging and fun professional development seminar that will give advisers a much-needed refresher at the end of winter as well as an opportunity to keep in touch with other advisers.

Student Summer Camp

The KEMPA Summer Camp offers a four-day journalism camp for high school student media students and advisers from across the region. Students get hands on, one-on-one training with award winning advisers and media professionals.
