JUNE 15 DEADLINES: ACT NOW
June 15 is the deadline for multiple KEMPA events: membership renewal, individual contests, awards, and newspaper and spring yearbook critiques. Don’t wait until the day before to take care of this, especially if your school takes a long time to process checks.
Here’s where you can get the membership renewal form. This gets sent to Bob Kay, the KEMPA Membership Chair. If your check is slow to come from the district, at least send him the membership form by June 15 and let him know the check will be on its way.
For your critique, mail your newspapers, magazines and/or spring yearbook to Bob Kay also. If you have already sent in your renewal, please print out a copy of your KEMPAmembership_form_2016-17 to include because it has critique information on it for the judge. We also encourage your and your staff to write a letter to the judge, explaining any challenges you may have had this year or asking for specific feedback on certain things you may be working hard to improve.
Here is where you can enter the individual contests. Nothing gets mailed in. It’s all digital and entered online.
You can nominate people for awards. Advisers, you can even nominate yourselves. April van Buren is the Awards Chair, so mail her your nominations at the address on the forms. The awards are as follow: KEMPA Adviser of the Year nomination 2016KEMPA., KEMPA Administrator of the year form 2016, Friend of KEMPA form 2016 and KEMPA Media Award form 2016. (The KEMPA Board selects the Hall of Fame inductees, although this is not necessarily presented every year.)

Check with your teacher about submitting your work for the contest. The teacher will submit all the entries for your publication at one time.
